Santa Clara Golf sits on gently undulating ground just east of Marbella, along the old N-340 coast road, with the Sierra Blanca behind it and the Mediterranean in front. It opened in 2001 and was built with respect for the native trees and wildlife, so it feels more like a golf park than a resort course.
Enrique Canales designed a parkland layout that is technical but fair: a stream crosses the course, several lakes come into play and many greens are raised above the fairway. The long par-5 8th drops from the highest point of the course almost to sea level, and the closing hole finishes beside a lake. The stretch from the 12th to the 14th, a par 4, par 3 and par 5 known as the Santa Clara Corner, asks for long, accurate shots.

La Finca Golf lies in a Mediterranean valley near Algorfa, in the Vega Baja area of Alicante, surrounded by citrus groves and with mountains on the horizon. Golf El Rompido lies a few kilometres from the fishing village of El Rompido, beside the protected marshes of the Piedras River and the sand spit of the Flecha de El Rompido. It is the only 36-hole golf venue in the area, and its main selling point is nature: there are no houses along any of the fairways.
Álvaro Arana designed both courses with the environment in mind. The South course, opened in 2003, is flat and easy to walk, with large, fast greens.
