Franciacorta Golf Club is a 27-hole course in Corte Franca, Lombardy, set among the vineyards of Italy’s Franciacorta sparkling-wine region, a short drive from Lake Iseo. Designed by Pete Dye and Marco Croze and founded in 1986, it is made up of three nines, Brut, Satèn and Rosé, named after the local wines. On this page you can check live tee time availability, compare green fees and book instantly, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before your round.
The club covers around 80 hectares of woods and vineyards between Brescia and the southern shore of Lake Iseo. It calls itself “the wine golf course”, and the three nines take their names from the styles of Franciacorta wine: Brut, Satèn and Rosé.
The course is not especially long, but it is full of character. Water is the main defence, with lakes in play on many holes and island greens that demand a precise approach. Fairways rise and fall through the woods and along the water, with views over the hills towards Lake Iseo. Combining two of the three nines gives a different 18-hole round each time.
What makes it different: the island greens. On these holes the green is surrounded by water, so there is no option to bail out: pick the right club and commit to the shot.
Green fees at Franciacorta Golf Club change with the season, the day of the week and the time of day, so the best way to see the exact price is to search your date in the booking box. As a general guide:

Marco Croze designed the layout, later partly reworked by Luigi Rota Caremoli, and the greens and tees were renewed in 2018. Golf della Montecchia is a 27-hole championship course in Selvazzano Dentro, just outside Padua, designed by English architect Tom Macaulay and open since 1990. Its landmark is Villa Emo Capodilista, known as La Montecchia, a 16th-century Venetian villa built as a hunting lodge that overlooks the course.
Tom Macaulay, then president of the British Association of Golf Course Architects, designed a technical layout on gently rolling ground, later renovated by European Golf Design. Water comes into play on many holes, and the three nines can be combined into different 18-hole rounds. The quality of the course has brought Challenge Tour events in 2001, 2002 and 2013, and the clubhouse restaurant is one of the best in the area.

Circolo Golf Venezia is an 18-hole, par-72 course at Alberoni, on the southern tip of the Venice Lido, founded in 1928 and one of the oldest golf clubs in Italy. It lies between the Adriatic Sea and the Venetian Lagoon on sandy, links-like ground and has hosted the Italian Open three times. On this page you can check live tee time availability, compare green fees and book instantly, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before your round.
The story goes that Henry Ford, staying on the Lido in the late 1920s, asked where he could play golf and was told there was nowhere. Count Giuseppe Volpi and a group of Venetian families founded the club in 1928 on the dunes of Alberoni, and it began with nine holes before being extended to 18 after the Second World War.
The course has the character of a Scottish links, on flat, sandy ground near the sea, with pines and the lagoon close by and the wind as the main defence. Its history is part of the experience: the Italian Open was played here in 1955, 1960 and 1974, and names such as Henry Cotton and the Duke of Windsor have walked its fairways. Arriving by boat across the lagoon makes the day unique.
What makes it different: getting there. Most visitors arrive by vaporetto or water taxi to the Lido, then a short drive to Alberoni.
